If you’re a surfer, you probably spent hours in the classroom drawing on your brown paper bag book cover of perfect right and left hand point breaks, palm trees, islands and sunsets! After drawing that image on every class book I never realized I was dreaming up my forever dream! Then I turned 43 years old and set out to complete the dream. Let me tell you that building on a rock in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean was INSANE! Not knowing the Ins and the Outs of business or building in Fiji, we ( Mike, Katie, Nikki and myself ) realized quickly that you can’t trust everyone. With practically no roads on Malolo or vehicles you have to rely on man power and a lot of it. The Fijians and Indian Fijians we worked with to get the job done were amazing, considerate and very hard working. Thank you Aiyas Ali Builders, Saiyas, Zabid Plumbing, Waqa, Rocco, Sanjay, and the team for pulling together on the most difficult thing I’ve ever done in my life. I’ll never forget the moment I tried to ship a 5,000 gallon water tank across some heavy seas in a small ponga boat, we nearly capsized in the middle of the ocean. I said to myself “why the hell am i doing this”! Maybe at 21 years of age but certainly not at 43. The water tank was imperative so we made landfall on the island and I was soaked head to toe. I cannot believe my cell phone survived. Needless to say, I am grateful, thankful and so appreciative of every ones help in making this dream a reality. I’d also want to thank Mike and Katie and Nikki for all their efforts, decisions and entrusting in this wild endeavor. I couldn’t have done this without you! Bula, Vinaka…Adam Ziegler
